Our Soldiers

Veterans Day, November 11, 2010

Today we say "Thank You"
To the brave men and women who have served Our Country.
Soldiers in war or peace, whom without...
There would be no freedom, no choice, no vote, no voice, no hope.

Do you know a Veteran?  If so, have you thanked them?
Today is the perfect day to start...

You already know how much I appreciate my Dad's service.
If not, then I encourage you to read At Ease Soldier.

I appreciate all our service members.  I think about them, what they do, how much they sacrifice, the families waiting for them and the countless things that I will never have to endure because of them.
I admit, my brain can't even begin to wrap around it.  How could it?

So to all our Veterans, Thank You!

God Bless You!  I love you!

  2. Erin, you folks deserve it! The picture you posted of the mom at the boys school for NFD pretty well broke my heart. I'm glad that didn't have to be you, but I am sure you would have done it! I have already talked to my Dad today and he actually took the day off and said he is wearing his 589th hat proudly. I am looking forward to your hubby coming home soon and all the fun stuff you guys can do together!

  3. Thank you for posting this loving tribute. We all feel exactly the same way. It's not only the men and women serving away from home that make the sacrifice for us all, but the families left at home to hold things together for their return.

  4. Yes, this is a very lovely and heartfelt tribute. The first picture just about broke my heart. Both of my parents were in the Navy. It is such a difficult thing - serving in harms' way every day. My love and thanks goes out to all of them. And, as Mama Pea so aptly put it, to their families left behind, holding things together.

  5. Mama and Susan, thank you both. And yes, it absolutely is about the families too! And it gives our soldiers even more reason to come home safely knowing they are much loved.

Susan, that is wonderful that both your folks were Navy. Did you travel around with them as well?
